Privacy policy

Who we are

What we collect

• When you contact us: your name, email, phone number if you give it, your message, and any access requirements you tell us about.
• When you subscribe: your email address only.
• When you donate: your name, email and the amount. Card details are handled entirely by our payment partner and never reach our servers.
• Automatically: standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited — kept for security and retained for 30 days.

Access requirements are sensitive

If you tell us about a disability or an access need, we treat that as sensitive personal data. We use it only to make sure you can take part. We do not share it, we do not use it for marketing, and we do not attach it to anything public.

What we do with it

We use your information to answer you, to run programmes you have asked to join, to send updates you have opted into, and to keep records of donations for accountability. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers we need to operate — our email host and our payment processor — and they act only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for two years. Programme records are kept for as long as we work with you and five years afterwards for reporting. Donation records are kept for seven years as required for financial accountability. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email contactus@skillbuildinitiative.org and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Cookies

This site sets a session cookie so forms work securely. Your accessibility settings are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device — they never reach our servers. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
